- History of a John
Graybill Family in America, 1681-1981
- by Spencer L. Kraybill and Noah L. Zimmerman, 2nd edition (Baltimore, MD: Gateway Press,
Inc., 1982)
- This volume of 1096 pages has literally thousands of names, all with unique birth-order
numbers attached, tracing the family from the first settler in Juniata County,
Pennsylvania. I'm not sure why they chose "John Graybill" as the name, because
the man to whom they refer certainly did not use that name, but his descendants, who still
fill the town of Richfield, PA, go by Graybill.
-- Information supplied by Dr. Ronald D.
Graybill, Riverside, CA
- (Editor's Note: It is my understanding from reading the Graybill GenForum that
this book is out of print, with no plans to reprint. Noah Zimmerman works at the
Juniata County Mennonite Historical Society and is happy to answer questions.)

Kraybill Family History Sixteenth through
Twentieth Century copyright 1993 by Dr. Herman F. Kraybill, published
by A Scribbler's Press, Kensington, Md. This book concentrates on the
Kraybills descended from Jacob Kreibel, brother of Peter and John who came
over with their father, Johann; however it does contain ship lists,
military records, photos, etc. of many of the Krahenbuhl settlers in
Lancaster County, Switzerland and Germany.
I don't know if there are
still copies available, but I will check and update you with that
information.--submitted by David M. Kraybill
