Special Instructions:
- To make Bob's arms, string the top row of green beads and all four peach/ivory beads. Double back through the peach/ivory beads to keep them together properly. Continue with the bottom row of green beads, doubling back twice.
- For the legs, the string will go through each row 1-1/2 times. The arrows show how one row feeds into the next.
- When the critter is finished, use the Sharpie marker to add the eyes and mouth.

Secure the first two silver beads, then add the second two as well as the next two black ones. Double back through these four. Then thread the cord through all four black beads on that row. Finally, thread the cord back through the top row of the skate. Add the last two black beads and secure them with the two below them.

Special Instructions:
To make Bob’s hat:
– The bottom row of the hat needs to be done in three sections. String the middle five beads first. After they are strung, add the two beads on either side. Thread the cord through both beads, then go back through the first. Then continue with the next row.

Special Instructions:
To make the letter:
- String the top row of blue beads (for Bob’s sleeve). Add the four peach beads and loop them together. The cord should come back out on the top row of peach beads. From there, add the two white beads on the side of the letter, and loop back again through the bottom two peach beads. Add the three white beads on the bottom row. Loop through both rows of peach (and white) beads and add the top row of white beads. Loop back through both rows of peach (and white) beads and continue with the bottom row of blue beads on Bob’s sleeve.

To make Bob’s mail bag:
- Begin by making Bob’s body, just like usual.
- Add the first row of the mail bag, as well as the two right beads in the second row. Loop these four beads together. Put on the last two beads in this row, but leave them loose for now.
- With the other end of the cord, add the next row of Bob’s body. Connect this row with the second row of the bag, and then loop the cord through the four beads beside the bag.
- For each additional row of the bag, loop the cord through the two right beads on the row above. Then bring the cord back down through the two left beads on the present row, and continue.

– Bob is wearing sunglasses. When you are finished making Bob, you can use the Sharpie marker to “connect” the frames to his ears.

To make Bob’s pop can:
– String the top row of beads of Bob’s arm. Add four red beads.
– Loop the cord through all four red beads. This will make the top two rows of the pop can. Now the end of the cord should be coming out of the second row.
– Add two more red beads. Loop the cord through these and the previous two to make the middle and bottom rows of the can.
– Continue with the bottom row of Bob’s arm.

Special Instructions:
To make Bob’s baseball bat:
- String the top row of white beads and the top two peach beads of Bob’s arm. Add the first two brown beads above Bob’s hand. Loop the two peach beads and the two brown beads together.
- Continue in this way up to the top of the bat.
- Thread the cord back down the bat. Add the bottom two peach beads in Bob’s hand and loop these together with the first two.
- Add the bottom two brown beads and loop them together with the bottom two peach beads.
- Continue with the bottom row of white beads in Bob’s sleeve.

#26 Scuba Diver Bob

To make Bob’s snorkel:
- Begin with the row of Bob’s face containing three red beads. Starting
with the third bead, lace the cord up through the remaining four.
- Lace the cord back down the snorkel. Then loop the cord back through
the first “vertical” bead and the last “horizontal” bead. Continue as usual.

To make Bob’s flippers:
- Begin making Bob’s “normal” feet. When you have looped the cord through the four beads that make his toes, stop there. Keep the bottom
row unattached for now.
- Add six more black beads. Loop back through them to make two rows of
three. Then thread the cord through the bottom row of Bob’s “normal”
feet. Make sure to pull the cord tight. Tie a knot and you’re done.

The white, blue, and black beads on Bob’s uniform are badges that astronauts wear. Every space mission has its own badge (the blue one). The black badge has the official symbol of pilot’s wings on it. And the white badge on the sleeve shows an astronaut’s nationality. For an American astronaut, it would say “NASA”. For a Canadian astronaut, it would say “Canada”. And for a European astronaut, it would say “ESA”.

For a special effect, you could use orange glow-in-the-dark beads for Bob's suit.

Special Instructions:
- Make Bob and the toboggan separately. When you are done making both, take some leftover cord and tie Bob's hands to the loop of cord at the front end of the toboggan (marked by blue dots at the top of the picture). Then tie Bob’s hips to the beads marked with blue dots in the middle of the toboggan.

- The back end of the toboggan will want to flop down. Glue the popsicle sticks to the bottom of the toboggan to keep it flat.

- Tie one end of the string to the back of the toboggan. Then tie the middle of the string to the top of Bob’s head. To help Bob sit up straight, you can hang him up somewhere.
